The makers also spent around $40 million on marketing, which puts the break-even point at $190-200 million. As of now, the prospects of “Air” grossing $200 million at the box office seem like an impossible mission despite positive reviews, making it evident that “Air” is failing commercially. Even recouping $90 million seems like a considerable challenge given the current box office projections, and it appears that “Air” is not just a failure but also a significant financial loss for the makers and distributors involved.

“Air” was originally produced as an Amazon Prime Original. However, due to a positive response from test screenings, the makers decided to release the film theatrically. Unfortunately, this decision now appears to have backfired as the film is a box-office flop. On the bright side, at least the makers will not have to bear any losses due to the release on Amazon Prime.
