After ‘The Batman’, New Line Cinema/Warner Bros is now eyeing and hoping well for Dwayne Johnson’s ‘Black Adam’, which is making its box office debut on October 21. Although ‘Black Adam’ is not a top popular character of the whole DC Universe, due to the production’s money and the effort of Dwayne Johnson, this film has become one of the biggest films of the year 2022, and here till a few months ago, there was no special expectation from the film, while now this film is being considered as a game changer for DCEU.
The film’s buzz as a non-R-rated superhero film is quite high, and now the comic-based ‘Black Adam’ has also received a green signal from critics, and it’s even better from a box office point of view.
Black Adam Box Office Prediction
Considering the immense buzz and values of production, ‘Black Adam’ is all set off to a good start, and there’s no doubt about it. Based on the current box office environment, critics and production expect Dwayne Johnson’s ‘Black Adam’ to earn a minimum of $65-75 million domestically in more than 4,000 theaters on its opening weekend. For the time being, these numbers are considered very well, but it can’t be denied that ‘Black Adam’ has more potential than this, and it won’t be a surprise if the film crosses the $80 million mark. But on the contrary, if the start is below $65 million, then it will be shocking for both production and DC fans.
‘Black Adam’ looks pretty strong even from a lifetime box office perspective because word of mouth is awesome, but it can’t be denied that ‘Smile’ and ‘Halloween Ends’ are also strong at the box office, and both of these movies will impress ‘Black Adam’, especially ‘Smile’. Talking about the numbers of total box office projections, ‘Black Adam’ has a potential of $200+ million domestically and $500+/- million globally, which is good enough for a debut character.
Leaving all these expectations, speaking of profits in easy terms, even though the pre-release projection of ‘Black Adam’ is quite good, it is also true that the production has spent a considerable amount on it. Even if the film made $500 million, it would still be seen as a minor success, and it could be assumed that the film was intended only to establish the character of ‘Black Adam’, similar to ‘Shazam’.
