Warner Bros and MGM recently released ‘Bones and All’ has received mostly positive responses from the audience and critics, especially for direction, cast performance, and cinematography. But it doesn’t matter if the box office performance is totally opposite or against its reviews, and in terms of box office, ‘Bones and All’ seem to be struggling, and it has performed below expectations. Whatever may be the reason but it can be disappointing for the makers.
Is Bones and All Hit Or Flop?
As per reports, Warner Bros and MGM’s romantic cannibal road drama ‘Bones and All’, released in the USA on November 18, 2022, in more than 2700 theaters, collected $921k on its opening day and $3.45 million on its opening weekend at the domestic box office. The total box office gross of ‘Bones and All’ is currently at $7.83 million domestically and $6.70 million overseas, for a worldwide total of $14.53 million.
Despite receiving positive reviews from the critics and being a $20 million small-budgeted film before P&A, the debut of ‘Bones and All’ in over 2700 theatres is not money-making in any way for production, and it’s an underperformed film while released on thanksgiving week. It’s easy to conclude that ‘Bones and All’ is a box office failure based on its performance because recovering its production and P&A costs is impossible at the current time. But it is expected to recover its total cost of $40 million (all expenditures) from digital and home windows due to good word of mouth.
Talking about the critical response, ‘Bones and All’ has received a 6.8/10* IMDB rating based on 50k votes, and on Rotten Tomatoes, it scored 82/100% based on 288 critical reviews.
Based on the 2015’s novel ‘Bones and All’ by Camille DeAngelis, the cannibal road horror drama is directed and co-produced by Luca Guadagnino, written by David Kajganich, and stars Timothée Chalamet, Taylor Russell, Mark Rylance, and Michael Stuhlbarg. Produced under the production banners of Frenesy Film Company, Per Capita Productions, The Apartment Pictures, Memo Films, 3 Marys Entertainment, and ElafilmTenderstories and distributed by United Artists Releasing (United States) and Warner Bros Pictures (International).
