The threequel of ‘Jurassic World’, ‘Jurassic World Dominion’ is one of those films that had the potential to do excellent at the box office, but after its release, due to receiving poor reviews from critics, ‘Jurassic World Dominion’s potential converted to disadvantages, and the film started with less number compared to last two films of the franchise, but it does not mean, ‘Jurassic World Dominion‘ is a loss for filmmakers, but it’s profit gainer film for Universal Pictures.

According to reports, Universal Pictures’ sci-fi action film ‘Jurassic World Dominion’ released in the USA on 10 June 2022 in more than 4676 theaters, collected $59.60 million on opening day and $145.07 million on its opening weekend at the domestic box office. Overall, ‘Jurassic World Dominion’ has so far collected $376 million domestically, $625.12 million overseas, and has a total gross of $1.001 billion worldwide^[1] against the budget of $185 million.

While the $145 million opening weekend of ‘Jurassic World Dominion’ is lower compared to the last 2 films, 2018’s ‘Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom’ ($148.02 million) and 2015’s ‘Jurassic World’ ($208.80 million), but still ‘Jurassic World Dominion’ is the second biggest opener of 2022 after ‘Multiverse of Madness’ ($187.42 million), and ‘JWD’ also easily surpassd ‘The Batman’ ($134 million). Despite receiving poor reviews from critics, ‘Jurassic World Dominion’ is rocking at the ticket window, and without a doubt, ‘Jurassic World Dominion’ is a blockbuster film at the box office. Currently, it is the 2nd highest-grossing film in 2022 global, after ‘Top Gun: Maverick’.

The notable thing is that even though ‘Jurassic World Dominion‘ is a blockuster at the box office, but it’s not well in terms of critical, and if not better in audience and critics’ point of view than it means it’s not good sign for the upcoming films of the franchise.

Talking about the critical responses, then ‘Jurassic World 3’ received a 5.6/10* IMDb rating based on 170k votes, and on Rotten Tomatoes, it is scored 29/100% based on 394reviews.
