Is Killers of The Flower Moon Hit or Flop?

Summary: Martin Scorsese’s ‘Killers of the Flower Moon’ has so far grossed $66.51 million domestically and $154.31 million globally, against its production budget of $200 million. Apart from the $200 million spent on production, the makers also invested over $100 million in marketing, which pushes the profitable mark above $500 million. Anything less than $500 million is a surefire box office failure.

Leaving aside the break-even point, currently, compared to its production budget alone, ‘Killers of the Flower Moon’ has performed poorly at the box office and is heading towards becoming a box office failure for the makers and distributors, resulting in a massive loss. It doesn’t matter how well the film is received, how positive its reviews are, how strong the cast is, or how skilled the director is; when the box office numbers are not in favor, it matters most.
