Is Nope Hit or Flop?

According to reports, Jordan Peele’s ‘Nope’, released in the USA on 22 July 2022 in more than 3785 theaters, collected $19.53 million on its opening day and $44.36 million on its opening weekend at the domestic box office. $100 million for Jordan Peele’s $68 million budgeted UFO Sci-Fi horror drama ‘Nope’ is well, but apart from the production budget, Universal Pictures spent a huge amount on prints and advertising costs for Jordan Peele’s most expensive film as a filmmaker and overall, it’s easy to say, for becoming a successful film, ‘Nope’ has to earn more than $150 million at the box office domestically and currently scenario is showing that ‘Nope’ will ends its box office with $140-150 million, which is not well and it’s also not a money-making. Overall consider this, currently, ‘Nope’ is an average film at the box office.

Talking about the critical response, then ‘Nope’ received a 7.4/10* IMDb, and on Rotten Tomatoes, it scored 82/100% based on 361 reviews.
As an R-rated and original, the opening of the film is well, but for Jordan Peele’s filmography, it’s underperformed because, in 2019, Jordan Peele’s same horror genre film, just 20 million budgeted ‘Us’ opened with $71 million at the box office for a $255.2 million global lifetime, while ‘Nope’ is not close to it.
