Walt Disney’s musical fantasy ‘Pinocchio’ is directed by Robert Zemeckis, and besides directing the film, Zemeckis also co-wrote it with Chris Weitz. It is voiced and acted by stars Tom Hanks, Luke Evans, Cynthia Erivo, Benjamin Evan Ainsworth, and Joseph Gordon-Levitt. ‘Pinocchio’ was produced by Robert Zemeckis, Derek Hogue, Andrew Milano, Chris Weitz, and Paul Weitz under the production banners of Walt Disney Pictures, Depth of Field Studios, and ImageMovers.
Is Live Action Pinocchio on Disney Plus or Theatres?
One of the most anticipated films of 2022, the live-action ‘Pinocchio’ is scheduled to be direct streaming on Disney Plus on September 8, 2022, in the USA by Walt Disney Pictures instead of a theatrical release.
In October 2019, due to the failure of 2019’s ‘Dombo’, it was reported that Disney was considering ‘Pinocchio’ as a streaming film. But later, because of Robert Zemeckis as director, it was reported that ‘Pinocchio’ was more likely to be released in theaters. After the diffrent stories reports, in December 2020, Disney officially announced that ‘Pinocchio’ would be streamed on Disney Plus instead of releasing it theatrically, and it was a wise decision because of the Pandemic. Regardless, the film is not expected to get good response, this decision is still good today.
According to reports, the remake of the 1940’s animated ‘Pinochhio’, ‘Pinocchio’ is a big production, and makers spent a decent amount on the film, so secure the amount, Disney Plus is the best way to release it.
