Universal/Illumination’s animated adventure ‘The Super Mario Bros Movie’, which arrived in USA theaters on March 5th, 2023[1], has received mixed reviews from critics and audiences, with particular criticism aimed at its childish script, the casting of voice artists, and lack of emotional depth. ‘The Super Mario Bros Movie’, which is based on the popular video game ‘Mario’, is directed by Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic, with a screenplay by Matthew Fogel. The voice cast includes Chris Pratt, Anya Taylor-Joy, Charlie Day, Jack Black, Seth Rogen, Keegan-Michael Key, and Fred Armisen. Unfortunately, Universal/Illumination’s ‘The Super Mario Bros Movie’ will never be streaming on Amazon Prime in the USA after its theatrical release due to production and streaming rights. As an official film of Universal and Illumination, the official streaming partners for ‘The Super Mario Bros Movie’ are Peacock and Netflix, and it will be available for streaming on these platforms through a subscription 45 days after its theatrical release. However, in addition to streaming, ‘The Super Mario Bros Movie’ is now available on Amazon Prime as a video-on-demand (VOD) version at a price range of $24.99 to $29.99.

In addition to being available on Amazon Prime, ‘The Super Mario Bros Movie’ is also available to rent and purchase on Vudu, YouTube, iTunes, Google Play Movies, and Redbox within two months of its theatrical release. Overall, users of Amazon Prime’s video-on-demand service will only be able to watch ‘The Super Mario Bros Movie’ on the platform, not through the subscription service.
