The threequel of the ‘Jurassic World’ film franchise, ‘Jurassic World Dominion’ was released in domestic theaters in USA & Canada this Friday, and the film has started with poor early previews, and it’s unexpected from ‘Jurassic World Dominion’, which is the film of a blockbuster film franchise.
Jurassic World Dominion Box Office: Poor Start For Jurassic World Franchise

‘Jurassic World Dominion’ had the potential to have excellent box office performance, but due to receiving negative reviews from critics, ‘Jurassic World Dominion’ will not be able to do anything tremendous at the box office. The first day collection of ‘Jurassic World Dominion’ is $59.70 million (incl. $18 million thrusday previews), and it’s more than ‘Top Gun: Maverick’ ($52 million) and ‘The Batman’ ($56.60 million). Currently, looking at the early preview, it’s clear that the ‘JWD’ is running for a $$140 million opening weekend, which is not close to the $165-$210 million pre-predictions.
The $140 million opening weekend from big production ‘Jurassic World Dominion’ is a poor start, and it’s also worst compared to the last 2 films, 2018’s ‘Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom’ ($148 million) and 2015’s ‘Jurassic World’ ($208 million)[1]. The Notable thing is that ‘Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom’s first day at $15.3 million, and the film opened with $58.56 million, while the ‘Jurassic World Dominion’s $59.55 million, but there is no sign of ‘Jurassic World Dominion’ grossing over $140 million on its opening weekend, and the reason behind this is poor reviews.

But one more important thing is even though $140 million is not a good start, but it’s also a good start for ‘Jurassic World Dominion’ to become a successful film against the budget of $185 million, and it’s clear that ‘Jurassic World Dominion’ is profit gainer for Universal Pictures but not like last two films.
