Lightyear Box Office Prediction: Eyeing a $80 Million Opening Weekend

The early critical reviews of the ‘Lightyear’ are mostly good, and according to reports, it is a good thing for ‘Lightyear’ from a box office perspective, and not only reviews but Chris Evans, Film of Blockbuster franchise also big factors on box office, but apart from good there are too many disadvantages for film, first banned in popular countries like UAE, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and Indonesia, and second due to a controversial scene which is not for a family-friendly audience.
Considering advantages or disadvantages, critics and experts expect a $80+/- million opening weekend from ‘Lightyear’, and it’s fact that, Chris Evans’ ‘Lightyear’ won’t outpace big blockbuster films’ opening of the ‘Toy Story’ franchise, ‘Toy Story 4’ ($120.90 million) and ‘Toy Story 3’ ($110.30 million).
While $80 million opening weekend expectations look good but on the other side, that’s a fact that ‘Lightyear’ is not a $1 billion tentpole like ‘Toy Story 3’ or ‘Toy Story 4’, and the reason behind this is controversies of the film and non-family-friendly scenes. But ‘Lightyear’ had the potential to do $600-800 million Global lifetime against its $200 million big production budget, which is well for the film.
