After the huge success of films based on Marvel’s character and the increasing interest of the audience towards Marvel Movies, Sony Pictures and Marvel Entertainment are all set to introduce yet another character with a small budget film, and this character and film are ‘Morbius’. Sony Pictures officially scheduled the ‘Morbius’ to be released on April 1, 2022, in the United States.
According to a recently published report of Variety, Jared Leto’s upcoming American superhero drama film ‘Morbius’ is a small budget film, and Sony Pictures spent $75 million to produce. The film is one of the smaller budget films from Marvel.
The ‘Morbius’ is produced under the banners of Columbia Pictures, Marvel Entertainment, and Arad Productions and film distributed by Sony Pictures Releasing. The ‘Morbius”s “pay one window” streaming rights are accrued by Netflix, and “pay two windows” rights are accrued by Disney.

According to reports, the idea of making a film on the ‘Morbius’ character was considered by Marvel Entertainment in 2000. But despite this, after a long gap of many years, the film was officially announced in 2018. The shooting of the ‘Morbius’ was started in 2019, and completed in just 12 weeks, including Post-Production.
Upcoming American superhero drama film ‘Morbius’ is directed by Daniel Espinosa and stars Jared Leto, Matt Smith, Adria Arjona, and Jared Harris. The ‘Morbius’ is based on Marvel Comics character ‘Morbius, the Living Vampire’, and the writers of the film are Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless.
