Universal Pictures’ survival thriller ‘Beast’ is ready to hit theaters, and the film officially releases in theaters on August 19, 2022, in the USA[1]. ‘Beast’ is directed by Baltasar Kormákur, written by Ryan Engle and Jaime Primak Sullivan, and it stars Idris Elba, Iyana Halley, Sharlto Copley, and Leah Sava Jeffries.
‘Beast’ was produced under the production banners of Will Packer Productions and RVK Studios, and is set to be distributed by Universal Pictures.
Universal’s Beast Box Office Prediction

Universal Pictures’ survival thriller ‘Beast’ is not a big production and the star cast of the film is not much well known, excluding Idris Elba. Not only that, but it comes with an age rating of R and with a low audience attraction genre. Overall, ‘Beast doesn’t have the potential to do well at the box office, and this is the biggest reason that makers do not expect anything special from the film at the box office.
Looking at the current buzz and word of mouth, makers and experts are aiming for just $10-14 million opening in more than 3500+ theaters from the film, and that’s a good start for an R-rated survival film, but it’s also not too well for its production. There is no big film ready to be released next weekend, so it’s crystal clear that ‘Beast’ leads the domestic chart for the weekend, but it’s not any achievement.
The lifetime expectations for Idris Elba’s ‘Beast’ are currently at only $35-45 million domestically and $60-70 million globally. If the film performs as per expectations, then it can end with an average box office verdict instead of a commercial failure, and at least the film will not become a loss to the makers.
