According to industry insiders, the production budget for The Fall Guy is around $125-$150 million, and Universal spent immensely on the marketing, which makes anything less than $400 million a sure-shot disappointment for the makers. Compared to the cost, The Fall Guy is a disappointment for the makers, as the film failed to perform wonders at the box office. Currently, industry experts predict a box office failure tag for The Fall Guy, and with these tags, the film has fallen short at the box office. Considering its debut, it is expected to end its box office run with $250-300 million globally, a number not what the makers wanted from the film.
Talking about critical response, The Fall Guy has received a 7.3/10* IMDb rating based on 20k+ votes, and on Rotten Tomatoes, it scored 83/100% based on 254 critics’ reviews[1].
Before release, it was expected that the PG-13 rated comedy-drama film would debut with $35 to $40 million domestically, as it comes with a well-established cast and excellent reviews. Despite boasting a well-established cast and garnering excellent reviews, the film fell short of expectations, much to the disappointment of the makers. The attribution of blame for this failure remains undetermined, as substantial financial investment was made, and the film received positive reviews. For now, the genre of the film, which may have garnered less interest from audiences, can be considered a contributing factor.
